Hello everybody! Pre-orders have mostly been picked during the last three weeks of March, or edited to fit the clients needs for April. If you haven't touched base with us yet, please do so soon.
April orders were due 3/26/2023. THIS HAS BEEN EXTENDED ONE WEEK TO APRIL 2ND, 6 AM. If we haven't received your order by then, your late order will be filled as we have milk to fill it, or possibly moved to the second week in April. Please go to our online store today and get your order placed. We need time to plan our week ahead. To help keep our operation running smoothly, each client needs to purchase and provide us twice the number of jars as you get of milk. For example - If you order/receive one jar of milk, you need to bring us two empty jars with your first pick up. Please be sure the jars have black plastic, one-piece lids on them. These lids can be found at Bloedorn Lumber in Worland. Please bring them back clean (checking the threads on jar and the lid). We can then sanitize the jars and lids much quicker. Please don't hesitate to call and ask questions. Thank you to all who have come to the ranch, met the girls who are producing your healthy dairy products, and walked thru our modest, but efficient operation. It helps to assure me that all the work is worth it. The service we provide is reaching many families, with new ones reaching out every week. Our first cow calved on February 28th, and we've been hard at it making cheese and butter to get our inventory restocked. The picture was shared by a new client who found the easy-pour lids and the silicone sleeves on Amazon. The sleeve helps to keep the bottle from slipping out of your hands. These two items are something you and your family might like. Please don't return lids like this to the ranch you may loose them. Keep those handy ones at home.

Normandy color shined thru on this little bull calf. I hope you noticed the website is live again. Yes today we are taking orders to be picked up beginning on the 30th of March. HOWEVER we have several cows that are first calf heifers so it takes lots of exta time getting them used to coming in the barn to be milked, and lots of time to figure out how much milk they will give after the calf gets all the good colostrum. Start up will be with fewer products for a couple weeks. Waiting on two more cows to freshen. We are share milking 2, have 3 dedicated nurse cows, and 2 so far dedicated to just milking. The next couple weeks are so very special as the calves are small enough to handle them easily. Bring your family and meet the gang.
Mar 30-31 at the ranch - Milk, butter, cultured buttermilk, yogurt and kefir. Apr 6 -7 - Same as above plus LEMON YOGURT Apr 13-14 - Same plus DREAM CHEESE Apr 20-21 - Same plus Marinated Feta Let me know if you will drive once per month from the ranch to your town! The milk cows are calving! We have three calves, so far. That means there is some milking going on. So, starting about March 19th, we will have a small amount of milk to share on a first come, first served basis. You must be willing to come to the dairy to pick it up. Please let us know if you are interested. Also, if anyone is willing to help with our regular deliveries when we get rolling again, please step forward. It would be greatly appreciated. We hope you all had a great winter, and have an even better spring!
I'm sorry we are having trouble with the Diamond S website. The blog page won't let us sign up and have it delivered to your email inbox. Please log into our store and access the blog from there each week to stay current on all dairy changes and happenings, if we have any to announce! Deliveries week of Jan 19-21. 2023
Ordering options for February and March:
![]() A beautiful Cloth Bound Cowboy Cheddar was cut and packaged this week. Aged 3 months and tastes very nice. Our home raised, grass fed beef tallow was used with several layers of cloth to bind the wheel of cheese. This holds in the moisture and protects the cheese from any mold growing on the rind of the cheese itself. Always a mystery till you cut! Very pleased. Give it a try! Concentrated nutrition!
By the end of January we will close our dairy for two months!! (or until our girls start having their babies) Please check out our two frozen items added to our store today. Our Raw A/2 milk and Plain Kefir will be sold in bundles of 4 gallons of milk and two gallons of kefir for delivery this month. The kefir and milk freeze beautifully and thaw perfectly. Cold water is much faster, refrigerator over night works too. As soon as you can mush it up with crystals still in the product, cut a corner off of the BPA free vacuum sealed bag and squeeze in to a glass bottle. Kefir will be in bags of 32 ounces and Milk in 43 ounce bags. There are 128 ounces in a gallon so for your bundle of 4 gallons you will get 12 bags. I so hope this will help those of you that don't want to live without our products. I've done this for our family for years and am so pleased with the results. It takes quite a bit of time and sometimes is quite a mess if you aren't concentrating on what you are doing, but I think you will enjoy the results.
Gene and I have decided we need to travel to a warmer climate for a break, rejuvenation recuperation, for us and our girls. Gene had a complete shoulder replacement just before Christmas and if we don't learn to travel now we may get to old to try!! Anyway after much debate and discussion we are going to book a flight to Florida and visit family. Then travel to Texas with friends. First come on the frozen milk products, first served. Order quickly we will be freezing all the milk we set aside weekly for cheese. Our cheese supply will be updated soon. We still have 3 wheels of Cowboy Cheddar, 3 wheels of Cactus Jack, 2 quarts of Phoebe's Marinated Feta + 1 small. If you don't see the size of the hard cheeses you would like please put a message in the notes and they will be cut. Thank you all so much for your continued support we are so very thankful for each one of you. Blessings to all for your best year yet, Kris Hello everyone! We hope you are getting acclimated to the colder weather. Fall was nice while it lasted, wasn't it? These cold sunny days are beautiful.
We have an update on product availability for all of you. If you have visited the online store recently, you will have noticed a smaller assortment of products available to purchase; but, as promised, we will continue to provide fresh milk, as well as kefir, maple kefir, plain yogurt, and Diamond S Ranch burger, plus our cheeses and butter while they last, throughout the winter. There will also be something new to this list of products — please put your email address in the little box and subscribe to receive your blog in your inbox so you don't miss anything. Mid December we will be sharing some NEW products that will be available. Don't forget it's time to get December's monthly order in. When we have limited milk the monthly orders are filled before the weekly orders. We do our best to plan for all. Happy Thanksgiving. Blessings to all. |
