We are small but we are mighty. Last week we were 3 now we are five. Our newest are two purebred Jersey heifers due to calve this summer, soon for Miss Lizzy, and a little later for Miss Lila. Miss Bess is leading the girls to the barn then Miss Daisy on the far left followed by Miss Lizzy, Miss Lila and sweet Miss Hannah bringing up the rear. The new girls were pregnancy checked on June 10th. Due dates were 10 days for one (that was yesterday, and no baby) and three weeks for the other. Lets place our bets and win a place in the first cheese class for the exact date Miss Lizzy has her calf. Isn't that a beautiful little full udder? Okay now let's guess heifer or bull calf for another two places in the first cheese class. The first two comments below that are correct will be called, put your contact information or message me! We are sure the new girls are A2/A2 just like the older three but they will be tested once they are gentle and coming in the barn. (that should be soon.) Now then we are also very excited to have our dairy equipment delivered from Maryland and set up on June 20th. Frank and Mary Kipe, owners of Micro-Dairy Designs arrived about 9:30 a.m. We worked together all day setting up and they training me. I was so overwhelmed by 9 p.m. I wondered if it should all be loaded back up and returned to Maryland. Then thankfully it's amazing what sleep can do for a tired body. By morning I tackled some of the mess we created with not knowing where to put anything. I shouldn't say anything, because the vat, chiller, recorder, pump and bottler had their home. It was just a little crowded on the other end. Just before nine p.m.the Kipe's left so they could get over the Big Horn mountains and be ready for three long days back home, so they could make another delivery Saturday to Vermont. Wonderful people, they just needed to stay in Wyoming for a few days!!! Along with the equipment the new milk bottles also caught a ride with them, saving us a lot on shipping costs. Lots of bugs to work out but hoping our little dairy gets more efficient on what we are producing. Call or stop in to see what's going on. Every day is a blessing and a new adventure. Miss Skylar is down packaging some Yummy Fresh Cheese Curd. It comes with a great story and is on sale through the fourth of July week.
