Hello Dairy Fam! Here's a little insight into our delicious offerings, along with a recap of our recent homestead sharing day and some important reminders. You've probably noticed the delightful zing that the zest adds to both our blueberry and lemon yogurt flavors. But here's a fascinating tidbit – when we add either honey or pure maple syrup to our recipes, it seems to promote a bit of fermentation in the yogurts. Nothing to worry about, though; it takes weeks for any alcohol effect to occur, and the flavor subtly changes in a delightful way. Ideally, we love when our products are picked up on the day scheduled for delivery. That way, you get to experience our yogurts at their absolute freshest and best. Although, when cared for correctly, raw milk will never rot. It might transform into something different over time, but it certainly won't spoil. So, why not try making our blueberry sauce at home? Whip up your own fruit sauce using honey or pure maple syrup as sweeteners. It's a delightful pairing with our lemon yogurt or vanilla Greek yogurt, trust me! You can find the recipe for homemade blueberry sauce at the bottom. And speaking of our yogurts, we've decided to start making the lemon without the zest. Both flavors are now offered twice per month. Now, onto Saturday's homestead sharing day. We had a fantastic turnout we once again with around 15 kids! It's been incredible to see the interest from young folks, with 4 kids expressing enough interest to return for a longer stay. They’re all eager to learn the art of milking, and we couldn't be more thrilled to have them join us. Kids that would like to return to learn more about the art of milking will just need to reach out and plan a good time that works for them and we can get some sessions scheduled. It's been heartwarming to see the joy and enthusiasm shared by all with these past couple of events and everyone getting to learn and share and enjoying food together. Lastly, before I forget, a couple of reminders:
Blueberry Sauce
Ingredients:
Combine maple syrup/homey, lemon juice and 2 cups blueberries in a small saucepan; bring to a simmer over medium-high heat. Simmer, covered, stirring occasionally, until the blueberries are slightly softened and a syrup forms, 5 to 8 minutes. Set aside to cool.

Stay tuned for more updates and tasty treats coming your way soon. Howdy, friends! Did everyone survive the rollercoaster of weather we had this past week/weekend? One minute it's all sunshine and warmth, and the next, we're bundling up against snow and wind. Ah, the joys of springtime in Wyoming, right?
First things first, we've got some major gratitude to dish out. A huge thank you to everyone who braved the elements and joined us for our homesteading event this weekend! We had folks coming from all corners of the area, including some adventurous souls from Powell and Deaver. And can we talk about the kiddos? We had at least 15 little troopers and their families brave the elements with us. Snow? No problem. Mud? Bring it on! These kids dove headfirst into helping us with our heifer calves, and let me tell you, it was a sight to behold. It's all part of our heifer development program in action, gearing up for the Spring of 2026 when these heifers will be ready to rock and roll. But here's the real kicker – a bunch of these families have little ones who are itching to learn the ropes of owning their own family milk cow. In the future, these kids will have the chance to apprentice with us, learning all about caring for and milking a cow. And, once this year’s group of heifers calve in the Spring of 2026, we'll be milking them and getting them ready to find new homes. We even have 2 from last year that will be available and calving next April. So, if you've ever dreamed of having your very own family milk cow, now's your chance! Get your name on our list for 2025 and join us on this exciting journey. With our heifer development program, these kids are getting a head start on bonding with their future bovine buddies. Plus, with a calf on their side, they'll even get some beef for the family. Talk about a win-win! As for Todd, aka "The Worm Guy," well, let's just say he never saw that nickname coming! But hey, when you're the master of all things vermiculture and you've got a bunch of wriggly little friends to show off, the title just fits, right? Todd wowed us all with his wormy wisdom, teaching us the ins and outs of getting started with vermiculture. Who knew playing with worms could be so fascinating? And let's not forget about the feast! We had a mouthwatering spread of homemade dishes, topped off with some delicious Diamond S roast beef. The food was incredible, but the real magic was in the sense of community and camaraderie that filled the air. As we’ve wrapped up this snowy spring weekend, we're already dreaming about our next gathering. So keep your eyes peeled, folks – we've got plenty more homesteading ideas and knowledge sharing in store, and we can't wait to share it with you! Until next time, stay warm and keep homesteading! |
